After a 15 year career in higher education and student affairs where I led a significant increase in enrollment at a small liberal arts institution, and successfully revolutionized the campus visit experience at two major PAC12 universities, I decided that the other side of my brain needed some exercise. I took the budding design, photography, and marketing skills and began a journey to shatter my comfort zone and switch careers. I left behind the college life for good to put my creative side front and center.
All throughout my career as an undergraduate and as a professional, I had a camera in my hand. Thanks to some photography classes and one incredibly inspirational professor, I am primarily self-taught in the areas of composition and natural lighting. Landscapes and architecture have been my primary focus, but I am looking for more portraiture, group, and event opportunities. Much of my work is still featured within publications from The University of Arizona, and some of my photos also appeared in US Airways Magazine.
A need for marketing and graphic design within my roles at my two most recent higher-ed centered jobs opened my mind to this new world. I used the resources available to me to create a graphic and visual identity for two admissions offices in terms of outreach, recruitment, and campus visitation, and used a massive CRM system to craft email campaigns and calling campaigns for up to a quarter-of-a-million prospective students.
I believe that performance is powered by passion and it’s better to have too much passion than none at all.
I am based in Salt Lake City and available for many photography gigs and design needs across the Wasatch Front and the American Southwest. Enjoy your journey through my creative mind and please reach out for any needs you might have.
